DR GARETH JAMES
Co-Investigator and Project Partnerships Lead
Gareth James is a Research and Knowledge Exchange Fellow at the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE) at the University of Glasgow.
As a co-investigator on the URBAN RETROFIT project, he co-leads the work package focusing on how planning authorities can enhance local policy and regulation for urban retrofitting.
His role also involves managing local partnerships and directing knowledge exchange for the project.
Gareth’s research primarily explores urban land reform, brownfield regeneration, placemaking, and the development of land for housing.
He has co-authored papers studies on progressive placemaking and delivering well-designed spaces in Scotland and across the UK.
His work aims to inform policy and promote sustainable, innovative approaches to urban planning and development.
