Dr YING WANG
Research Associate
Dr Ying Wang is working as a Research Associate in the School of Geography and Planning, University of Sheffield, on the ESRC funded URBAN RETROFIT UK Project.
Her research mainly revolves around two inter-related themes: urban regeneration, housing dynamics and its governance; and public participation and collaborative governance approaches to address ‘wicked’ urban problems and achieve more just and sustainable futures.
She is committed to an interdisciplinary approach to planning research, drawing on theoretical insights and methodological tools from geography, sociology and political science.
More recent work has been in neighbourhood governance and micro-regeneration in urban China, and community participation and state-building in the post-pandemic era.
