Husniya Kedr Denur is a Landscape Architect and Researcher who joined Urban Retrofit as a PhD student at the University of Glasgow’s College of Social Sciences.
With expertise in urban management, landscape architecture, and sustainable design, she is committed to exploring how communities can adapt and thrive in the face of climate challenges through innovative and inclusive urban solutions.
Her research focuses on adaptive reuse of urban spaces and green infrastructure, with projects in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where she investigated the potential of green cemetery design for climate regulation and sustainable infrastructure case studies in Africa conducted at Utrecht University.
Husniya’s academic journey includes an MSc in Landscape Architecture from Addis Ababa University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Urban Management from Erasmus University Rotterdam, and international programs at TU Delft and Utrecht University.
At Urban Retrofit UK, Husniya brings a multidisciplinary approach and a passion for creating resilient and equitable urban environments.
